Ontologie für die Tonne

An dieser Stelle habe ich schon mal auf ein anderes Buch hingewiesen, dass sich philosophisch mit dem Thema Müll auseinandersetzt, eigentlich aber eine Theorie der Gesellschaft vorstellte. Ähnliches unternimmt Greg Kennedy in seinem Buch An Ontology of Trash : the disposable and its problematic nature (Albany : SUNY press, 2007):

The ontology of trash thus works out to be the history of human embodied being-in-the-world that takes seriously the physiological changes wrought by technology on our embodiement. (S. XVIII)

Nach Kennedy gibt es einen Unterschied zwischen Waste und Trash. "Waste, we learn, stinks of the body." Kennedy scheint mit Irrgang einer Meinung darin zu sein, dass Technik dem Menschlichen schadet: "Chapter five ... shows how the technological manner of taking care of things, as our modern mode of being, signifies our failure to be truly human. ... The phenomenon of trash exists as long as we fail to exist as humans."
